SLO Gray House (The Larger)

16"x24" oil on canvas. Just had a bunch (5) paintings professionally photographed by Artworks over in Highland Park (Los Angeles). I had five done because at five, they cut you a deal and I need all the deals I can get. It is nice having somebody else do the picture taking deed, but I am not sure of the outcome. The details and brushstrokes seem amplified to me. Maybe I am wrong—I don't know. The above painting is the larger version of the little daily painting I did of this lonely old house. I threw everything (pigment) I had at the side of the building and the field in front of it. Well, I am in the homestretch of preparing for the Beverly Hills Art Show coming up this weekend. That means that not only will you have to put up with my usual inane commentary, but that you will also have to put up with my whining about the dang show—or, as I like to refer to it—my "Public Humiliation Tour 2011!". How do you like the use of the exclamation point? Pretty snazzy. Oh, I am also determined to use the word "imponderables" in a sentence this week, so you will have to suffer with that as well. The "SLO Gray House" painting will be hanging, along with me, at the show. See details below.

  2. Raymond, this old house is wonderful, all the gray tones with colors seemingly dancing through them. Absolutely love it!
