Joe & Sherlock Holmes

14"x11" oil on canvas. I have been informed that I apparently died and fell off the face of the earth last week. At least that is what many people wrote to ask. I appreciate all the emails and concern — Thank you. The gist of the emails went something like this, "Hey, Raymond! Where's my(?) daily painting that usually pops up on my _______ (fill in the blank with any of these: monitor, iPhone, laptop, computer, iPad, phone, doohickey, etc.). Oh, and are you okay?" I apologize for not informing you that the Beverly Hills show is coming up and I have painted some larger paintings and all this furnished me with an excuse to leave my beloved easel and attend to my other mistress: my table saw. Or, in other words, I just plain ol' needed to make some frames, so no painty and no posty. Sorry for the lack of communication. Now that's out of the way, let's talk about the painting above, besides the fact that it needs a frame. If it appears somewhat dark, that is because it is. Not emotionally, I am not that deep, I mean the values are somewhat dark. Don't know why I painted it that way, just felt like it I guess. Heck, when I walked into the studio that day, I didn't even know I was going to paint this, it just sorta happened. Can't think of anything else to say about it other than the fact that I like Sherlock Holmes and I really like coffee and sometimes I like to paint. So there you have it. Thanks again for all the concern.
