Murdered Lemon

4"x6" oil on raymar panel. Actually, it was the tree that was murdered, or almost anyway. I whacked our Meyer lemon tree back pretty hard, yielding a huge harvest of lemons. My neighbors were taking away bagfuls or shirtfuls and we still had boxes and boxes left. "Squeeze and Freeze" became our household motto. So, I had lemons to spare for the crime you see above. At least I was able to play just a little with the complimentary colors of purple and yellow and try out a new knife. (Yet again, I made up a new word in "shirtfuls." What can I say? That's what my neighbors were doing: filling up the front of their shirts until they were hunching over in pain.)
