Still Life Landscape #2

4"x6" oil on board. The challenges posed by these still life landscapes are addictive. You name it, it's there: composition, values, hues, intensities, etc. Every color on my palette comes into play. I am heading towards simplicity instead of complexity. Some artists naturally tend toward the magical realism of somebody like Jean Baptiste Simon Chardin instead of the complex simplicity of Giorgio Morandi. I confess I am much more drawn to Morandi's end of the spectrum.
