Victoria's Onions
4"x6" oil on gessoed door skin. This is a different angle for me. I used this straight on point of view in an attempt to enhance the backlighting and the reflective light bouncing up from the plate and table top. Even though this view is often overused (abused) by some artists, I think it works here. Not only is the fringe lighting and reflected light on the onions interesting, but it also makes for an interesting composition. The onion tops are naturally translucent adding another dimension to capture.
