6"x4" oil on raymar panel • My
painting obsession has brought on another addiction: Collecting old
cameras. Somewhere upwards of 20 old cameras are sitting about my studio
and domicile (notice the vagarious number, recognition of an exact
number—probably closer to 30—might cause unwanted marital stress). Every
now and then, I would paint pieces I called still life landscapes;
setting up groups of items so that they were kind of like a landscape
painting. Maybe a still life landscape of some of the cameras would be
an interesting piece(?) and qualify my addiction. Did I just type
"...qualify my addiction?" I meant to type "...produce a glorious piece
of art." Beautiful enough to head off any possible intervention, so that
I will still be allowed to access eBay.
The Beverly Hills Art Show
(http://beverlyhills.org/exploring/beverlyhillsartshow)
I will be showing my wares in space #140, that's in the first park between Rodeo and Beverly Boulevards.
Saturday & Sunday, May 17th & 18th / 10am to 6pm both days
In a fun turn of events, I will have two FaceBook friends exhibiting on either side of me: Hilary Taub and Karrie Ross. Hilary and I have exhibited at the show together for years and her work is wonderful. I am looking forward to actually meeting Karrie in person and seeing her art for the first time. FaceBook is an odd universe, so actually meeting a FaceBook friend—in person—is always fun..
