Lucky Cat Bank

20"x16" oil on canvas. • For you purists out there, this should have been entitled "Maneki Neko." But it would be hard to find somebody further from purity than myself, so it is just my "Lucky Cat Bank" that sits next to my computer staring at me with those maniacal eyes—like a Tiger Mom saying, "Why don't you save more money?!?!?"  •  I painted this smaller (see below) to give me a feel for it before I took it bigger and it helped. There's a lot going on in this and not having to worry about whether a red background would work or not was a definite plus.
