Hot Water

16"x20" oil on canvas. Four spoked chrome object = insane artist. Actually, with my weak gray cells, one spoke would have been enough for the insanity equation. Chrome can be fun to paint, just paint it honestly and learn to embrace abstraction.    The only high and ultimate truth that this piece taught me was this: We couldn't have hot water at that sink until I was done painting this handle. Hah! You were expecting something deep and introspective like, "'... when you die, on your deathbed, you will receive total consciousness.' So, I got that goin' for me, which is nice." No, the only wisdom I received is that the other humans in my domicile became really tired of using pliers to run the hot water.    Sorry for the shameful "Caddy Shack" quote, I couldn't help myself.

  1. Yesterday, when you mentioned transistor radios as a new and interesting subject matter, I immediately thought, "ooo oooo how much stainless steel does he have lying around?"
Today, when I saw the 'H', I immediately thought, "Tomorrow, will be brought to you by the letter 'C'."

And when I read the Murry quote, in my head, I did it with my mouth kinda droopin' down on one side, holdin' a pitchfork.

    1. I wish I did a letter "C" for you Leslie, but I moved onto other things. Funny how that works. Well done by the way on the quote—done as it should be. My brother can quote every line from that movie and it kinda scares my kids.
