Automatic Electric Telephone

5"x7" oil on doorskin. I found this old phone on eBay (much to the Spousal Unit's chagrin). We can talk about my brief addiction to that particular website later—much later. Anyway, this piece has been accepted into the "9th Annual Small Works Show" at Segil Fine Art Gallery over in Old Town Monrovia. It is a great little show and timed perfectly to the holiday season, running from December 3rd to December 31st with an opening night reception on December 3rd. This old phone seems like a good subject for a larger painting. Grays and Blacks are such great places to play.
