Scrape Me!

10"x8" oil on canvas
. This piece is entitled "Scrape Me!" because that is what I tried to do to it: scrape it. Artists reuse canvases all the time, and I thought this painting a good candidate for a scrape and reuse. But, for some reason, I waited a bit too long before trying. By the time I got to it, the paint had set up too much for a successful scrape. So, it now goes from the "SCRAPE ME" pile to the "GESSO THE BEJESUS OUT OF ME, THEN SAND ME" pile. At least it is better than the "NAPALM ME" pile, that pile scares me. Anyway, part of this daily painting thingy is to share with the other kids—even if I do not think the piece a success—so here you go.

  1. We "other kids" do appreciate it. Your title is extremely cool, much better than "napalm me." Besides, if you were successful all the time, where would you go?
