Tequila Bottle

5"x5" oil on gessoed door skin. Okay, I want to make one thing perfectly clear: I did not consume the contents of this bottle. This potent potable container was given to us empty, with the hopes that I would find it interesting and paint it. A nice gesture that I appreciate. Now that's out of the way, I can tell you a little something about the bottle—it is actually blue. Blue glass that you might mistake for clear until you see it under a certain light or at a particular angle. The blue also reveals itself rather intensely in the think parts of the glass making for a fun painting challenge.

Yet Even More Comments: My eBay auctions usually run for seven days and, quite frankly, that length can be a little annoying. I have thought about shortening them, but every time I 'd get ready to press the button, that old "I pay eBay that dang fee anyway, so I am going to use the full seven days" thought pops into my beleaguered brain and stops me. What do you think? Should I shorten up my auctions to just three days? Let me know what you think. I even turned on the Comments button on the blog so that you can comment here if you wish. It only took me about three months to figure out how to turn the Comments button on. No matter how many times I turned it on, the bratty little thing would not show up. The solution was easy: just strip down the entire blog, rebuild the code, remove all the inherent bugs that popped up and BAM, the Comments button showed up. Oh joy! With my luck, the button probably doesn't work, but it's there! Supposedly, something to do with "corrupt code" was the problem. Mind you, this activity was achieved by a guy who thought that HTML was some sort of texter's lingo for Hot Meal. Of course now the Labels buttons won't come on at the bottom of the posts, no matter what I do—just further proof that, just like my camera, Blogger is possessed by the devil. I need a hot meal.

One Last Comment: The eBay auction for the above painting will be for three days, instead of the usual seven. Let it ride!

  1. Hee hee I noticed it is entitled "Tequila Bottle" instead of "A Bottle of Tequila," but then I read your post, so never mind. I really like it! :D

  2. I love the energy and vigor of your brush strokes! Also, the way the background is distorted through the bottle. I consumed a bottle of Tequila once. It will never happen again.

As far as eBay auction length is concerned, when I rarely post a painting there I usually split the difference and schedule it for 5 days. I don't know why.
