Grape

4"x6" oil on raymar panel. Thank you for putting up with the Buddhist monk rant yesterday and thank you to all who welcomed me back. And now for something completely different... A huge grape. Unlike most of the subject matter in my dailies, this is an enlargement. The little grape was approximately 1/2" long and according to my calculations, the painting above is roughly 650% scale. Don't know why I chose a straight on pose, but a contributing factor was that it had to be close to my easel so that I could get a good look at the little guy. I had to eat a few thousand grapes to finally find this one – a sacrifice I was willing to make for my art (Yeah, right. I just like grapes).
