Yellow Pepper

6"x4" oil on raymar panel. One of our very own peppers, cut open and painted for your amusement (and my consumption). Yellow is a notoriously wimpy pigment, but it is worth chasing nonetheless. What I had not anticipated was the translucency of the pepper's skin. Even the light bouncing up from the cutting board made its way through. Oh, and you can thank the Spousal Unit for the seeds. When I heard, "Aren't you going to paint those seeds?" I knew they were going in. Just an artist doing what the gods command.
