4"x6" oil on board. This type of split composition has been on my mind lately. I was thinking of trying it in my larger paintings, but it has popped up in my dailies first. They are not necessarily intuitive compositions. At first, the space separating the subjects does not seem right and you just have to push through that feeling. Just as it is with all compositions, that space is as important as the subjects, if not more so.
