Teapot and Cup

4"x6" oil on board. Two interesting things happened in this painting. One was the introduction of sap green and mixing it with other transparent pigments like alizarin crimson and the kitchen sink, yelling "Whoopee!" and seeing what happens. The other was me beating the tar out of the red to bring it down. The whole sap green/"Whoopee!" affair resulted in some beautiful colors, almost as if I introduced tons of indian yellow, and in me carving the paint to help adjust its value. This took place primarily in the background. The oppression of the red was a result of the way the teapot looked and my petty desire to oppress a color, proving my supremacy over an inanimate tube of paint.
