6"x4" oil on board. I'm back from a forced hiatus due to ill health. Not painting was a little like torture. One of the supposed benefits of practicing the daily painting regimen is the increase in one's powers of observation – take better notice of the world around me, so to speak. This seems to have have happened, because although unable to paint, I could not stop looking for possible subjects or notice interesting shadows or plays of light on just about anything and everything around me.
