Tangerine

4"x6" oil on board. It may not look like it, but it was the composition that consumed me on this one. I usually work all over on a painting all the way through, but the modeling of the tangerine seemed secondary for most of the time. Then BAM, I attacked the mischievous little fruit. Everything is relative in a painting, so my work on the tangerine then caused changes in the rest of the painting. This session ended as it should, with me eating the subject matter (only one seed - life's good).
