6"x4" oil on gessoed door skin. Soy sauce, or liquid salt as I like to call it, is a staple in our house, so it deserves its own portrait. This is an exercise in slowing down and really looking at the areas that just appear black. Dark areas, like chrome, can really have a lot going on. You just have to stop and observe.
