4"x6" oil on gessoed door skin. Black objects are a challenge. You have to slow down and see all the colors that dance around in the black. This set up was made up of relatively warm elements and light, causing the pot to appear warmer than it actually is. The sides of the kettle have a vertical texture that I rendered by scratching the paint through to the board with my brush. This diminutive kettle is just 5" tall, handle and all.
