6"x4" oil on gessoed door skin. These poor old scissors lost their shine long ago, which actually made them a good subject. This was painted with a limited palette of ultramarine blue, burnt umber, and titanium white. I usually try to keep burnt umber off my palette; it can really muddy things up, but it is great for making gray with the ultramarine and white.
