Cold Handle

 4"x6" oil on raymar panel

The story of this painting, as per the blowhard artist, "Having painted the ever-so-beautiful hot water handle twice before and being in the mood for the challenge that only chrome provides, I felt that I should—nay, must—paint the cold water handle in all of its magnificence. You see... It was not a matter of choice. I, as an artiste, had to do it! So, without further ado, I present to you… 'The Cold Water Spigot Handle Thingy' immortalized in oil. Thank you. Thank you very much"

The truth of the matter, as per a long-suffering homeowner, "The dang cold water spigot was acting up, so I had to take it apart and, using parts from two old cartridges, do a rebuild to fix it. One of the few times that my bad habit of holding on to old plumbing parts actually proved useful. The handle was off and just sitting there and I can't stand doing plumbing. So, in a classic case of avoidance, I painted it instead of putting it back on. I call it 'Cold Handle,' because that's what the accursed thing is."
