Pipe Wrench

36"x12" oil on canvas. • I know, I know... This is an obnoxiously tall painting. It's when painting a tall subject like this that you realize a human's optics can be screwy. If this wrench is too close while painting, your eyes throw the perspective out of whack. Lucky for me, I was able to handle it—it just took some patience and maneuvering on my part—you see, "Out of Whack" is actually the place where I live. I used to live in a place called "Stupid," but The Spousal Unit made me move.
