10"x8" oil on canvas. The last time I painted Athena, she was wearing a red bandana. During this latest session she informed me that the bandana was a screen to hide the natural gray growing out expelling the dyed. I informed her the gray is beautiful. She of course thought me a liar, but it's true — her gray is beautiful. Gray hair offers an artist such a great opportunity to utilize color and temperature.
