A Lemon Ignores a Minneola

4"x6" oil on board. What the heck is a minneola? I am glad you asked. It is a tragic tangelo: a hybrid of 'Dancy' mandarin and a white-fleshed grapefruit – or so I'm told. Whatever it is, it is obviously snubbed by its citrus cousins. Just look at the way the lemon ignores it – snob. This minneola turned out to be too tart for me, a guy who has to pound most grapefruit with sugar to make it palatable. What? It's a beautiful Friday, did you think I was going to talk about painting?
