Acorn
4"x6" oil on door skin. This was supposed to be a whole "autumnal" painting, with an acorn, an apple and a midget pumpkin. Well, I kept looking at the darkness of the acorn and kind of fixated on it. So much so, that only the acorn and part of the midget pumpkin survived (the apple was eaten - never paint hungry!). The acorn has the dark finish that at a casual glance has almost no color or variation. But when you really slow down and look at it, there are all sorts of things happening on its dark skin. So to heck with the apple and pumpkin! All you get is this acorn.
